Vision: 2020

Welcome to a brand new start. I love reinvention, refreshing, refocusing and pushing forward in a more streamlined and centered fashion. The new year seems to always provide us with that opportunity and especially a monumental one like 2020. Its a chance to lengthen the view, clean the slate & make the list. The past decade has been such a killer trip for me and my music. I've gone from playing my songs for three uninterested people at an open mic to selling out small theater shows and playing on big stages with the Oak Ridge Boys, Bad Company, Martin Sexton, David Lindley, Shooter Jennings & more. Most importantly though I've met such wonderful friends throughout this musical adventure. I'm thrilled for what the future has in store and so grateful for these incredible opportunities.

One of my resolutions was to write more. I love writing and as a songwriter I get caught up sometimes only writing songs. This blog is a platform that I plan to expand on over the coming months and will most likely be utilized as a random selection of poetry, journaling, photo work, etc... At this point it is too early to tell what may come of this, but sometimes you just have to START.

Thank you for sharing your journey to find the instrument that feeds your soul. I look forward to hearing how this guitar inspires you and to see what new life lessons you document in your music. I love music...and I have to say that when you sing your songs, you make your audience, your friends, feel a little like your friend Len stated.."call me anytime and feel free to stop over to the house and try out some of my guitars". Comfortable, welcoming and content. I agree, every guitar player deserves a great instrument, however, I feel that this instrument has been waiting for you Mike...and has found it's forever Home. Let the feelings flow. Looking forward to more of what you do, including unearthing some of the emotions within us ,(some of which we didn't know we had walking into your venue......through your lyrics and music.... Diane

You truly emulate the saying and feeling of “Do what you love and love what you do!” I bring friends to your shows and they’re instantly new fans. You play to people’s souls. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.

Mike...so very lucky & appreciative to have you & John in my music world. Hearing you play, sing...& tell your stories has been nothing but enjoyable! The stories you've told before are still incredibly funny...or deep meaning, depending on the story, but always with a new twist. That's a pretty amazing gift!...& then you throw in a new one! Your continued song writing & musical talent is simply wonderful & beautiful...with, apparently, no end in sight (thank God!). And above & beyond all of that, what I find truly astounding is your humility. While your music career soars, you still manage to stay grounded. I know your family & close friends help you stay that way...(& hoping we fans do, too:), but at the end of the day, it's always left to...& up to... you. So, well deserved kudos to you!...and many heart felt thanks...! Maggie
